Mikkel Sorensen

Mikkel has been an entrepreneur since age 15 - from web design to nightclub owner, he has been learning each step of the way. In 2006 he went corporate, working for first A.P. Moller-Maersk and since Grundfos, quickly falling into a role as a changer, and an innovator.

Mikkel has worked with full-time IoT since 2009, where he started and headed the world's largest M2M project, connecting 300.000 containers in Maersk Line's Remote Container Management project 

Since then he has worked with Grundfos, the world's largest pump manufacturer, developing innovation capabilities and IoT products in commercial buildings and water utilities. He also brokered a partnership on mobile payment with Ericsson, enabling rapid scaling of IoT enabled water kiosks in Africa .

Through his experience as an independent entrepreneur, he understands the cultural traits that enables a start-up  to innovate fast and with a purpose - and through his corporate career he knows what obstacles stop corporations from achieving their innovation goals, and how to overcome them. He has a broad understanding of technology and business, thriving in bridging this important gap in digital transformation and IoT.

Since 2015 Mikkel has been an independent consultant, and is now part of Council Global as well.

Mikkel lives in Copenhagen and in his spare time he advises young start-ups, follows digitalization and IoT trends, and enjoys travelling with his wife. Connect with him on Twitter or LinkedIn.
