Martin Pot is an independent interior-architect, researcher and thinker/writer, living and working in Rotterdam. He studied Technical School Rotterdam and graduated in Interior- Architecture & Spatial Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy of Arts in Rotterdam.
He completed the Hora-Est program at Erasmus University Rotterdam to prepare for his PhD. After over 25 years of working at architectural offices, as an independent interior-architect, as well as a side-step in (digital) cartography/mapping he is now primarily occupied with the various theoretical/philosophical and technological aspects concerning the relation technology and architecture/built environment. e has created interior/architecture- and theatre-design projects, writes/blogs for several media. He is connected to Council, the multi-disciplinary international think-tank for the Internet of Things, moderates the LinkedIn-group hybridLiving and the Meet-Up Group IoT & Architecture in Rotterdam.
He initiated and organizes since 2011 the one-day thematic conferences/MeetUp’s on 'IoT & Built Environment' on April 9 in Rotterdam. He is member of EC’s WG-AIOTI on Smart Architecture as well as STARTS.
