Marc YVON is Director of IBM European Human Centric Solutions Center. His primary mission is to create value for everybody by addressing any human need where technology can help. He has in the recent years led human centric solutions in mobile phones application development, sensor-based and cognitive solutions at the intersection of available and emerging technologies.
He is an IBM Master Inventor and filed many patents that contribute to the growth of IBM’s patent portfolio and the expansion of IBM’s increasing suite of products and solutions. He is an IBM IT Certified Thought Leader in the Internet of Things, a member of the IBM Academy of Technology and contributes to the IBM Global Technology Outlook that provides a 5-year vision on technologies and emerging areas.
He is deeply involved in the Internet of Things frame since today almost anything — any physical object, process or system — can be instrumented, interconnected, and infused with intelligence. He is also involved in building cognitive systems that interface humans with speech and natural language processing.
He previously held positions in the software industry from research, software development, and senior management for multinational corporations such as Oracle and Informix. Marc received a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Paris and was visiting scholar at Stanford University Knowledge Systems Laboratory.
