Privacy by Design

One of the most important aspects that deals with personal data is Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs). The term was coined in 1995 by the Commissioner of Ontario -Dr. Ann Cavoukian - with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Dr. Cavoukian thinks that the concept of PETs can be expanded. Privacy by Design (PbD) is an approach to the protection of privacy and personal data by the technologies. It is necessary to think privacy as embedded into design of technologies. Nicola Fabiano, Council member, has been recognised by Dr. Cavuokian Individual Privacy by Design Ambassador to join a select group of privacy leaders recognized worldwide for their thought leadership.Nicola thinks that PbD can be considered as privacy 2.0.
