Xenia Ziouvelou

Dr. Xenia Ziouvelou is a research fellow with the Business School of the University of Southampton (UK). She holds a PhD in Internet Economics (scholarship awarded), an MSc in International Business, both from the Department of Economics of the Management School of Lancaster University (UK), and a BSc in Business Administration from the American College of Greece (GR). Xenia has a research association with the Athens Information Technology (AIT), where for more than seven years she acted as a senior researcher and lecturer.

Prior to that she was a research officer and project manager with the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in the e-Business Center (ELTRUN) of the Department of Management Science and Technology; where she continues to act as a research associate of the Information Systems Technology Laboratory (ISTLab). 

Xenia is a passionate supporter of the open, collaborative innovation revolution. She has coined and is the driving force behind the notion of “open incubation” that is manifested in the context of the EU-funded project VOICE -A Virtual Open Incubation Ecosystem.

Dr. Ziouvelou has a long working experience as a senior research scientist, technology transfer officer and project manager in numerous EU-funded research and industrial projects covering diverse thematic areas in the context of innovation, IoT and Internet-mediated evolution across various industrial sectors. Her principal research interests are in open innovation in technology-mediated and IoT ecosystems as well as industrial strategy, business modelling and intellectual property rights.
