Pramod Anantharam is a research at the Ohio Center of Excellence in Knowledge-enabled Computing (Kno.e.sis) where he is a key member of the Semantic Sensor Web project. He is fascinated by the idea of infusing intelligence into objects around us. Given these objects may have sensors and are connected to the web has profound implications on it's ability to integrate and process observations. Sensory streams in real world may include machine sensor and citizen sensor streams. Building graphical models from these streams to deal with uncertainty in a domain (e.g. sustainability, healthcare, system health monitoring) is his research focus. Particularly, he specializes in leveraging background knowledge (e.g. ConceptNet5, Linked Open Data) for supporting representation, learning, and inference using graphical models.
