Molly Hankwitz lives in San Francisco, California. She founded the design and research collaboration, Archimedia in 1998 with writer/filmmaker, David Cox. She has contributed to international media arts culture for fifteen years. In 2010, she co-curated the open wireless and locative media arts exhibition, citycentered.org. She holds a Ph.D. in Media and communications from Queensland University of Technology and lectures in History in Digital Culture. Her current project is building the community-based free University of the Commons and developing computer literacy skills for underserved populations. Her research includes histories of urban electronic media and use of mobile technologies designed for urban space.
