Jop Esmeijer is an innovator and researcher at the strategy department of TNO, the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research. His main research area is the societal impact of ICT, with a focus on (future) internet technologies such as Big Data and the Internet of Things. Jop also works as a freelancer to create new media and gaming concepts. He co-created Swinxs, the first outdoor game console, where he was creative director. Swinxs is screen-free and uses RFID and sensor technology. It combines what kids like about gaming with what they like about playing outdoors.
