This summer in Shanghai, The Mobile City and Virtueel Platform organize ‘Designing the Hybrid City’, an event that takes place in the Dutch Culture Centre in Shanghai. The event is part of a cluster of events called Adaptation: Designing the Future City that is organized in the context of the World Expo 2010.
Weikang Wu is a master candidate majoring in wireless sensor network and M2M technology in School of Communication and Information Engineering, Shanghai University, Shanghai, China. With his supervisor Jun Yan and other lab members, he has been working on the R&D and application of M2M technology in the internet of things in China for years.
Their team participated in some projects in the monitoring based on the M2M technology such as R&D of the first wireless gas meter reading system and verification platform(also its specification) in China, wireless seawall monitoring system in Lingang Area, Shanghai and the demonstration of Smart City in Jiading District, Shanghai. They also have cooperation projects with China Telecom about the internet of things.
He believes that the technology of the internet of things does promise a better life in the near future.
A French citizen by birth and a world citizen by heart, Pierre Métivier is the co-founder of NET-7, a French IT executive and consultant network. As a specialist in product marketing and innovation, he helps companies to integrate new technologies such as contactless and the Internet of Things in their strategy and development.
Francesca Bria is is currently a PhD Researcher at Imperial College Business School. In her research she's investigating how design-driven methodologies can foster the direct involvement of users and communities in co-designing and co-producing future urban systems and services. She's also looking at the way ubiquitous and pervasive urban technology will impact collaborative creativity and socio-economic practices. Francesca has an Msc in E-business and Innovation from the University College of London, Birkbeck and she is currently working as Tutor in Business Strategy and Organisational Change at Queen Mary University in London. She is political consultant and expert on Innovation policy, Media and the Information Society for the Region of Lazio, the Province of Rome and the European Commission. Francesca has a background working as video journalist, writer, filmmaker and network activist and she’s an advocacy adviser on access to knowledge and collaborative production in the digital economy.
