Denis Roio, aka Jaromil, is a researcher in philosophy of technology and a software artisan.
He has created and maintains the dyne:bolic operating system, a 100% free GNU/Linux distribution recommended by the FSF, as well several software applications focusing on hardware recycling, communication technology, artistic practices and the privacy of users.
Since 2006 he leads R&D activities for Montevideo/NIMk (Amsterdam), has been awarded the Vilem Flusser Award in 2009 and is currently PhD candidate for the Planetary Collegium (M-Node), with a research on "Generative Patterns for Alternative Economies".
