Ben Schouten

Ben Schouten graduated from the Rietveld Art Academy in 1983 and worked as a professional artist. He found himself interested in patterns and iconography, and after travelling in the Magreb and studying number theory he rediscovered his fascination for mathematics. He received his master's degree in mathematics, specializing in chaos theory, in August 1995. In 1996 Ben Schouten founded Desk.nl, an Application Software Provider, providing innovative internet related solutions to a wide range of customers. Since 2008 he is lector Ambient Intelligence & Design and Serious Game Design at Fontys Hogescholen, Eindhoven. His group focuses on multimodal interaction and ambient game design in intelligent systems.

Victor Vina

Victor Vina is an interaction designer working on the intersection of design research, digital craft and open technologies. He has researched about networked objects (Royal College of Art, London), open systems to set up distributed wireless networks (Interaction Design Institute Ivrea), and more recently applications of Internet Zero for architectural applications (MIT CBA, Fab Lab Bcn). He is currently based half of the year in western countries (teaching) and the other half in emergent countries (learning).

Martijn de Waal

Martijn de Waal is a writer and researcher, who has specialized in the relation between technology, media and (public) culture. Together with Michiel de Lange he founded The Mobile City, a think tank and knowledge network on digital media and urban culture. He is also part of the New Media, Public Sphere and Urban Culture research project, supervised by prof. Rene Boomkens at the department of practical philosophy at the University of Groningen and a guest researcher at the department of media studies at the University of Amsterdam. In the spring of 2009 he was a visiting scholar at MIT’s Center for Future Civic Media, a collaboration between MIT's Medialab and Comparative Mediastudies. He serves as a member of the board at the Dutch Cultural Broadcasting Fund and as a member of the board of advisors at Virtueel Platform, the national Dutch sector-institute for e-culture.
