Aldo de Jong
Aldo is co-founder of Claro Partners; a consultancy which helps corporations and startups to navigate disruptive change. Claro focuses on various areas at the intersection of society, technology, design and business, including the Internet of Things (IoT), the personal data economy and the rise of networked services. Aldo is a strategist with a strong analytical capability and business acumen, who understands what is needed to take an initiative through an organisation to the marketplace. He couples this experience with creativity and a passion for understanding people.
Aldo works with change-makers within industries affected by disruption, such as telecommunications, technology, financial services and media, as well as with innovative startups through Claro’s new Data & IoT Accelerator. Prior to Claro, he was a founding member of the Barcelona office of Smart Design and worked in various commercial and marketing roles at General Electric. He holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona and an MSc Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
Claro Partners has built a strong perspective on the Internet of Things through recent extensive research and analysis. As a starting point for this strategic work, Claro mapped out the Internet of Things business landscape in a dynamic online tool that shows the vastness, variety and scope of the space, with a focus on new initiatives and emerging startups. It maps out 400+ different services and identifies hotspots, areas of growth and opportunity spaces across industries.
Informed by the research with developers, designers and entrepreneurs in the IoT, Claro has also designed an IoT Canvas; a tool that provides an overview of all the elements required to successfully develop and launch an IoT-enabled product and service.
Claro uses these and other unique tools, frameworks and workshops to work with entrepreneurs, startups and corporations who are looking to define their role in the space or develop and commercialise valuable IoT-enabled services and experiences.
Claro Partners is currently looking for mentors, investors and corporate partners for the Data & IoT accelerator program Claro has recently launched. This program will transform teams into high-performance startups in the rapidly-growing opportunity spaces of Smart Data and the Internet of Things.
